Simpson's Paradox

Suppose there are two baseball players. The first one has a batting average of 25% in 1995 and 31.4% in 1996. The second one has a batting average of 25.3% in 1995 and 32.1% in 1996. So the first player has done less well than the second in both years. Do you think it possible that the first player does better than the second when the results for the two years are combined?
